The Giardino dell'Iris is a botanical garden that specializes in the beautiful Iris flower species, which is the symbol of Florence. The garden has been open to the public since 1954 and is owned by the Società Italiana dell'Iris. An annual competition, the International Iris Show, is held here, where around 1500 species of the flowers are displayed.
