Hadad's Lake, Richmond

6 people in our party..we all had a great day.. the staff were all very friendly and helpful.. my grandson is 5.. he had a ball on the playground slide in the kiddie pool..most of the day there was a short line..kids that age seem to enjoy it...the slide is well made, large and sturdy..so even mom's can go down yes the water is green...but not from Albee, or anything growing in it...as the owner told us, he has sand on the bottom.. that would make the water look brown.. so the chemicals and chlorine make it green ... I can say on our way home I went to smell my bathing suit and skin...There was NO smell at all!! so there goes the Algee thinking... Rope swings and trampoline was fun...free boat rides..need more plastic boats.. wish the mini golf was a little nicer and in the shade... oh..there was lots of shade around the pool..and if we got hot there were some air conditioned rooms in the main building... very nice day food in the park was more than reasonable...abt 3.00 for items Bottled water was $1.25 definately would go back

BEWARE!!! HORRIBLE SHITHOLE!!!! This "park" was the worst experience I've ever had. If I could rate zero stars it would get a negative 10. I just visited this backwards redneck of an area and vowed to never return. The gunk of a lake is green with unknown bacteria growing and multiplying. I felt as if I was swimming in slime. The 3 ft of green warm piss water had a playground slide in the middle of it and they called that a waterslide. (redneck ghetto). There were spider nest everywhere and I found a turtle in the water. You could tell the ph levels of the water were UNSAFE. Everything in the park was dinky, the health dept, fda, and OSHA needs to investigate this place. There is no shade, the facilities were worse than a port-a-potty. These hillbillies lacked a sense of education and courtesy, this included the entry parking staff who were RUDE and untrained. This shithole deserves an F and needs to be condemned. The were not accepting to the various different types of relationships that we brought (interracial, gay, etc). Get over it ! In closing if you are not going to ride in the back of a pickup truck in 100 degree weather yelling racial slurs, then This park is not for you. DON'T GO! DONT GO! Just look elsewhere it's a gross place!

I love this place, we go there many times during the summer. If you are looking for a five star resort, then stay away. But really...for 12 bucks a person, you have ALL of the water activities that you could possibly want, a full miniature golf course, paddle boats, kayaks, volleyball courts, horseshoes, basketball courts, etc. There are plenty of picnic tables and lounge chairs, a beach area, etc. Really, where else can you go where you can bring ALL of your own food and drinks...just grab some charcoal and lighter fluid...they even have the grills there for you to cook on!!! You can even bring beer if you want. I love this because you aren't forced to pay ridiculous prices for overpriced food. It would cost 12 bucks a person just to go and play mini golf somewhere these days! I have told many people about this place, and everyone loves it. Granted, it is an older place and not very fancy, but it is laid back and a I have had a great time every time I have went. I have also met some great people there, and for me personally, that is a bold statement. Most people are just there to hang out and have a great time...AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I PLAN TO DO TOMORROW!!! As a matter of fact, we went yesterday, and are going back again tomorrow...and will be going back every weekend this summer. Simply put...THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN RICHMOND!!
