What were we thinking?
First, we traveled to Virginia from NY with three families, 6 adults and 8 children which included my 18 month daughter. After a 1 1/2 day of touring Busch Gardens. One couple arranged for the tour. It was a disaster, We began our adventure at 8.45 pm, (after all it is a ghost tour). Our guide looked about 80 years old, could hardly hear his voice and spoke very slowly. A very nice man but definitely a cure for Insomnia. Within 10 minutes, the kids are acting up, the stories were a bit long and boring and of course too much standing around. We lasted about 45 minutes before we noticed people began to disappear. The guide began to take notice he was losing the crowd so he added some humor in his presentation. The jokes were great if you were born in the 1920's. Our kids were very tired and confused. Too make a long story short, half of us went back to our cars and fell asleep, the other half lasted till the end of the tour (10.45pm) I kid you not. Put it this way, none of us discussed the tour after the vacation.
If you do want to see the tour, I suggest a) Do not bring any children, b) Take a nap prior to the tour, C) wear sneakers and bring a warm sweater, D) A Large coffee is a must E) It's only 10 dollars F) You must enjoy History. take care
