Like the Lucas Theatre , this theater was revived by the Savannah College of Arts and Design. Earlier known as the Weis Theater, run by the Weis family, this theater became a victim of the multiplex culture and lost its popularity. After being acquired by the College, the theater was restored, renamed the Trustees Theater and reopened in 1998. With 1,200 seats, the venue now hosts fashion shows, film screenings and theatrical performances. The theater hosts the Savannah Film Festival held by the College.
