La Renaissance Patisserie Francaise
You can tell by the heavenly smells that waft from La Renaissance that this is an authentic French patisserie--established for 25 years and still drawing crowds from all over Sydney. The tranquil courtyard setting adds to the April in Paris atmosphere. Enjoy soft, flaking pastries made on the premises and wicked desserts such as the Mousse Picasso--white and dark chocolate mousse, with Grand Marnier to give it a kick. Prices start from around AUD5.

A little French Oasis in Old Sydney

Middle price bracket. Very pleasant courtyard area. If you're walking about in The Rocks you're likely to be looking for signs of early Sydney. Sitting enjoying a relaxed meal in this courtyard signs of history are all about you. Old walls, steps etc but their stone starkness is beautifully relieved by leafy vegetation carefully placed to provide atmosphere and shade.
Once seated there one is out of sight and sound of the shop and can simply relax and enjoy the food and the company.
