Description
Built in 1895, the Western Australian Medical Museum was Perth's first maternity hospital. Now called Harvey House, the old hospital has been transformed into a museum. It contains displays exploring many facets in relation to the history of medical practice including nursing, dentistry, early doctoring and the famous Royal Flying Doctor Service. Exhibits include 100 years of dentistry, a 1930s operating theater and an iron lung in use during a post-war polio epidemic.
