Westfield Carousel, Perth

What I don't like is that it's not nearly as big as it really should be (like the mall in Mt Wellington, Auckland called Silvia Park) shucks even the name is better ha) walkways are not wide enough and are easily crowded on a general statutory holiday like labour day, needs more quality fashion shops to choose from also needs a Big W somewhere nearby, needs an upgrade all over its a bit dated. Now would be a good time to increase opening hours to encourage consumer spending (what with the recession and everything) not enough time for us to shop after work with just one late nite and no shopping on Sundays or public holidays

What i dislike about the place is that some atmosphere in some shops are not very good and can hardly breathe. Need more aircon so customers will want to go in to that shop

Carousel grew from the old Waverly Boans dept store in the 70's and underwent major expansions in the 80's and 90's. For Perth, this is truly one of the best places to come to shop and enjoy the day. Great shopping, clean and friendly atmosphere with some truly GREAT places to sit and eat or relax and enjoy a coffee throughout the centre. I do have one small gripe though... All of the expansions over the years have made Carousel extremely sprawling and although a train passes close to the centre there is really no easy or shaded pedestrian access to and from the station. Also the older part of the centre looks quite tatty now from the outside compared to the new part(ie. 'The Street' which looks fabulous). Perhaps these issues will be addressed one day with further upgrades to the centre.

I like it because of the cinima and the stuff you can buy there is great as well better than narrogin we don't even have a cinima here so it is good to go there to watch movies and go shopping.

Very impressed by this place, very clean and tidy with a good choice of shops. Shame I was only there for an hour.
