Established in 1928 by fishmongers GP Kailis, this market is a local institution inducted into the Western Australian Tourism Hall of Fame. Always a hub of activity, Kailis' offer a takeaway or eat-in menu, a bar, dessert bar and they also sell fresh seafood. The outdoor eating area overlooks the delightful Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour--watch for the seagulls! Of course, the speciality is seafood. A basic serve of great fish and chips costs AUD6.50.
We ate here about 5 years ago - wonderful to sit in the outdoor area looking at the boats and eating the lovely fresh seafood - something for everybody here. Been dying to get back ever since, and will be in November. First on my list, and I'm bringing my Canadian sister with me - she joined me the last time, is coming to Australia again and wants to enjoy Kaili's once more. A Cafe with a difference.
