Music festivals and club nights here can empty a good many of the regular clubs in the city as its vast size can host a number of performances in its various halls and rooms at any one time. Invariably the talk of the town when there is a special event going on, some memorable evenings have been held here, with local bands such as Bobsleigh and Spitfire more than holding their own with the foreign talent at a recent festival. Delivering an eclectic program which includes theater, musicals and comedy, the former Komsomol Theatre is an important cultural venue for St Petersburg.
