This cycling venue, with its obviously UFO inspired design, will play home to cycling events during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games. The totaling 33,320 square meters (368,653 square feet) and seating 6000 people, this venue is a great place to enjoy cycling. The building is well lit with over 200 lights fitted on to the huge dish shaped dome of the building, as well as round scuttle in the ceiling enabling the use of solar power while diffusing natural light for better visibility on the track. The velodrome will be used as a training facility after the Olympic games have come to an end.
