Description
The Parc de Bruxelles is surrounded by the Royal Palace, the Rue Ducale, the Palace of the Nation and the Rue Royale. In the 12th century, the park was designed as a hunting ground for the dukes of Brabant. In the 18th century, it was turned into a French style garden with its pathways and fountains forming the outlines of freemasonry symbols. The Belgian national day of independence on July 21 is celebrated here with fireworks.
