Bergerie Nationale de Rambouillet, Rambouillet

The Bergerie Nationale is a massive experimental farm, aimed towards improving farming techniques through a collection of initiatives. It is the center for genetic conservation of the Merinos de Rambouillet, a breed of sheep particular to the land for over two centuries, and for experiments in large-scale organic agriculture and livestock farming. It also includes an equestrian center, educational facilities, and boutiques selling the farm's produce, including meats, dairy, eggs, wine, honey, wool products, and souvenirs. Festivals, workshops, conferences, and markets relating to the projects of the Bergerie are hosted throughout the year. See website for details.
