Parc Jourdan, Aix-en-Provence

The Jourdan is one of the largest city parks, built in two parts separated by a massive staircase. The land was designated as a public park in 1929 under the government of Joseph Jourdan. The lower portion is laid out as a classical French garden, and the upper half as a romantic garden. Several sculpted busts dot the park, and it hosts open air entertainment all summer. The park opens daily at 9 a.m.
