The Pola Museum of Art houses more than 9,500 pieces of art—Japanese paintings, oriental ceramics, modern ceramics, glass works and cosmetic utensils. Ever since it opened in September 2002, this location in the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park has attracted art lovers from various parts of Japan. Surrounded by Hakone's lush greenery, the Museum building is done up with the theme "natural beauty" in mind. Moreover, fibre optic lighting technology lends each piece of art its best look.
