The seven mile Healy Pass straddles the counties of Cork and Kerry. In an area where beautiful views are plentiful, this pass beats them all. Its charm lies in the seemingly interminable, winding roads which zig-zag up and down the mountain. Its named after the first Governer General of the Free State, Tim Healy, who was born in Bantry. At the summit there is a flat rock where, local legend has it, fights between families from either county would be contested. This Pass is Open all year.
