Codrington College
Description
Built in 1748, this is the oldest Anglican theological college in the Western Hemisphere. It stands on land willed in 1710 by Christopher Codrington for the study of divinity. Just 15 miles from Bridgetown, on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the college's ambience of tranquility is perfect for quiet reflection. Its entrance way, lined with royal palm trees, has become a signature photo of Barbados. Guests are allowed to poke around the building and its many historical exhibits, or walk the college's short nature trail. There is an admission fee.
