Tea Lounge (The), Canberra

This cafe can be found just beyond the foyer of the Hyatt. Many visitors and Canberra residents make the pilgrimage here for Sunday afternoon high tea. Continuing the hotel's elegant 1920s theme, you can sit in luxurious armchairs and admire the artwork. Fresh flowers surround you as you ponder the sumptuous selection of afternoon tea delights. You can start with gourmet sandwiches, mini quiches and other savoury pastries. Then pace yourself for sweet indulgence with scones, tarts, Danish pastries and cakes. Cups of tea and endless fruit punch is also available. Cost for high tea is AUD17.50 (Mon-Thu) and AUD21 (Fri-Sun).
