well i found the place under new management, and all though just taken over- the experience has improved from previous visits.
in the past they have won many awards- and the new manager has the same intentions as in the past.
as a regular patron, loyal and watchful- i feel he has the makings of award winning service combined with the right support from his front of house team and the kitchen to regain those awards from previous years.
i wish them well- and can not wait to see the results.
It's very lovely to be able to sit in this cafe and have breakfast while the Centre is opening up. It's quiet, and has nice views over the Centre and over the Square out front. The service has always been flawless, with lovely staff and speedy service. I really love the food for breakfast, but have not yet tried their lunch. Teas and coffees are also excellent.
With only a total of 6 other diners at 3 tables on a saturday morning you would think it wouldn't take over 30 minutes for a slice of raisin toast. To make matters worse, my companions eggs arrived an were eaten before my toast. Did I mention I had to ask twice where our food was and when ask for an explaination was told "i think the docket was lost"
You have got to try the chicken and mushroom crepe. It is mouthwateringly superb.
Service is pretty quick and there's a great view over the mall for people watching.
Prices are excellent and the coffee is always good.
We loved the atmosphere and super sexy food... Better than Europe. The super sexy coffee was the best I've tasted. Super fun staff and super yay prices... If only Fontaine was in Belgium! Super unfair!
