Over 20 wineries are waiting for your visit at Stanthorpe to taste the interesting and ever developing wines in the dry, cold weather, stone granite country that makes these good wines. Four National Parks surround Stanthorpe, lakes and creeks abound. Many musical events and programs are held throughout the year. Do check out this picturesque location for its sheer beauty and rich history.
I really enjoyed my stay in Stantorpe because it is a friendly town with lots of places to see. The climate is terrific, the town is nestled in the hills and has all the amenities that you would need on a holiday. There are plenty of shops, motels and a caravan park all close to town or in town. My recomendation is that you visit Stanthorpe in March as they have a huge apple and grape festivle. Enjoy!
We went with some friends and had the best time. We checked out most of the wineries, had a beautiful dinner at Anna's (we are still talking about it)and the atmosphere was great. Everybody was so friendly and relaxing. We are planning our next trip back there. The best thing was it being cold and having a firer place to sit around with a glass of wine and friends.
We travelled from Brisbane to Stanthorpe - upon arrival we noticed it was 5-10 degrees cooler! We stayed at a great place which was very reasonable price. Got a fresh berry icecream - visited some wineries & lavender farm, a chocolate chop and had a fantastic meal! I could not fault anything. The local people were so nice. The visitor information centre is fantastic and manned by some volunteers. I could not say enough. Congrats Stanthorpe! We'll be back!
