Friday 4 Jan 2008 - Arrived at 5:20 p.m. to celebrate our 36th Wedding Anniversary. Were given requested table in corner by the window, which we had booked in advance for our family of 4. Table seemed somewhat smallish though - but we managed somehow. Ordered prawn vindaloo, chicken makhini, lamb ceylon, and beef Punjabi delight, with rice and naan. Each dish had a unique, piquant taste - yummy and delightful! Service was friendly and prompt (perhaps because the crowds had not arrived yet). Happy with our choice of restaurant for the occasion. Food : excellent and authentic Service : like the trains in India no concept of time or schedules food is served whenever

We went to this restaurant because it was recommended by one of my best friend. So one Wednesday night I and my girlfriend went to the restaurant after making a reservation for 2 at 6.30. When we asked for our booked table for 2 we were given our allocated table which is right at the door step where the queue was, which was quite uncomfortable. Having requested to the waiter for some other table arrangement he politely said that he didn�t have the authority so we need to talk to the manager. When I personally went and said the manager that can we please have any other table for 2 or just the table next to us she ignorantly said that�s the only table available in the whole restaurant, but what we could see was there were only 3 tables sitting in the whole restaurant. After having few arguments she said we can have that table or can leave. As we had to go to movie and we didn�t have time to go to some other restaurant we decided to cope with the door step table. We had to ask couple of times just to get a jug of water. The bad-mannered waiter who took our order had no idea what we were talking about as had little English speaking ability. He had a bad appearance at work and needed to be deodorized. The drinks never turned up which we didn�t get charged for on the bill saying that the waiter must have forgot. The waiter serving the food was the same who took our order still he gave us wrong meal instead of our chicken korma he gave us chicken Punjabi. When we complained we ordered chicken korma, he said that they are one at the same. But as soon as we had it we came to knew that it was a hot meal when we ordered mild. Complaining to one of the other staff he said no the meal actually was a chicken Punjabi and not korma so he went and got us our right meal. The meal was delicious and the bread was yum. Never got the bill on the table and no one bothered to clear the table while I and my girlfriend were taking for 20 min after our dinner. This awful service left a real bad picture on our mind of the restaurant and we decided to never go there again and discourage our friend to go again as well. It might change in future when they get trained and educated waiters and a polite front counter manager.

Loved: The Food Disliked : Rude service at Front Reception (reservation was not recorded. Not too worried about this as I know accidents happen) . However we were accused mulitple times making a mistake and ringing a different restaurant... Since we rang up, booked and then drove 35 mins to get there I didnt appreciate being told that I was wrong. Like I said, accidents do happen but being accused of being too silly to book the right restaurant is rude But as a positice spin, the rest of the staff were great!

The food may be nice but the lack of service and PR leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and you may walk away with a bad impression. Booking: - abrupt phone manner when booking, many of the staff require PR training. Service: -the waiters were too lazy to place food infront of each person and stood at the end of the table to pass it down, even when there was clearly enough space for them to access everyone. The majority of the waiters need to be trained how to serve food properly. -separately ordered breads were piled in one basket instead of separating them for each customer. -More Rice was offered but never came, food got cold while waiting and the desserts for the banquet never came. Food: -Quite nice, coconut prawn dish is my favourite, however its nice to have rice to eat with it and the promised second plate of rice never came. Summary: -Nice food but many of the staff lack PR skills over the phone and in person, -Food can take forever or never come out -However having said that, there are about one or two staff who are genuinely nice and may help you if you are lucky enough to get them.

I love the curries at punjabi, I am quickly working my through the menu. my favourites so far are the Lamb korma and Lamb Palak. All very tastee. It is the only Indian restuarant in Brisbane I would go to.

This is one of the best Indian Restaurants in Brisbane. The food is really superior and the buzz and atmosphere is great. My only criticism is that the speed of service is inconsistent, and there are often queues to pay when you leave. On one occasion I waited 20 minutes in a queue just to pay. I feel they should be committing to more staff at busy times, especially on the counter. Everything else is excellent, including courtesy of staff. While the problems mentioned do spoil things a bit, it's still the best Indian food I've found, better than 3 other restaurants closer to home.

We love this place. We travel an hour every week to eat there.

Punjabi was a great night out. Absolute superb service with smiles, and the food melts in your mouth. Definitely the BEST indian food I have ever eaten. Also they deliver for next to nothing which is just another plus for a delicious evening!
