Avenue Restaurant & Saloon
The nightlife heart of Surfers Paradise is Orchid Avenue and at its tip is the Avenue Restaurant. The restaurant oozes across the sidewalk in a sizzling combination of sexy suntans and coastal elegance. Candles on every table, coupled with the sound of the beach in your ears, give the Avenue quite a romantic feel, particularly for a restaurant in the middle of the party strip! The calamari dish is sumptuous and you can choose between battered or deep fried for AUD13.95. The bar is fully licensed and wine is BYO (bring your own) with an AUD2 corkage charge.
The Food, the service and the price really impressed us all,
we just wish we had of found The Avenue earlier.
It was the best meal during our recent holiday, I would recommend
anyone it is full of surprises.
The food was very very nice, fresh, tasty and at an affordable price, would recommend to all my friends for casual or a romantic day/night out, hence the reason im writing this review... I have now eaten there for the last few years now, love it
Hoppin roo meat and great coconut sauced barramundi
By A Yahoo Contributor, 8/8/06
This is a great place to take a small group with diverse tastes. I did just that after visiting alone first myself. My husband enjoyed his kangaroo. I fell in love with the coconut-sauced barramundi and had it both times (i.e., two nights in a row)! Friends who came along tried pasta and several other dishes, and all came away happy. Very nice food at reasonable prices.
I'd love to have that sauce recipe to try back home in San Diego.
