Description

All your favourite Japanese dishes are served in Sono's traditional setting. Share a serving of sukiyaki or choose from the extensive a la carte menu. Fanciful wood panels and bamboo decorations remind one of the exotic origins of this delicious cuisine and patrons can choose to dine at the sushi bar, a table or in the private tatami room. An extensive menu includes sushi, sashimi, tempura and katsudon, served a la carte. Alternatively you may wish to share a wonderful combination dish, cooked at your table. On Sundays, enjoy all-you-can-eat sukiyaki for just AUD20.

My husband is a Japanese chef, and we live together in Japan. We went to as many Japanese restaurants in Brisbane as we could in December 2005 when we came back to visit my parents for Xmas. My hubby had almost given up hope until we ate at Sono. The staff and chefs were all Japanese- and the food was as authentic and tasted wonderful.

gooood food gooood service gooood envirnment... very busy restaurant though, need to book, i would suggest to go there for dinner between monday to thursday, since you may not be able to get a sit there on friday night

the restaurant now have lobster course, very good fresh lobsters, many different cooking styles, seafood lovers should try it, soooo gooooood... and not very expensive

every time i come back to brisbane i must go to this restaurant. the food there is just so fabulous and nice presented.especially the sashimi platter, i bet sono would be the best place to have sashimi!!!

i like this restaurant since it is the only restaurant in brisbane that can offer real japanese food, and the traditional japanese environment is just amazing.
