Description

On the tumbling slopes of one of Bellevue's older residential neighborhoods, Chism Beach Park combines a lake beach with winding roads and hilly trails. The beach is the focus, with plenty of space for parking, picnics, sand castle building and diving into the water. The leisurely drive through the upper reaches of the park is pleasant, too, with occasional sudden lake views and quiet hiking trails. You'd never know you were five minutes from downtown Bellevue.

Hidden secret of Lake Washington

We discovered Chism by accident by looking at green areas on the map :-) It turns out it's a gem. Verdant, sheltered, it has a playground and small beach for kids, and deeper water with a dock to swim out to and jump off. Plenty of shady grass for picnics. Lifeguards in summer. Since we found this we have got many of our friends hooked on it. It is one of the highlights of our summer. Note, you'll need a map or GPS to find it. But if it was easy to find, it wouldn't be so lovely!

I pretty much grew up at Chism. Its just really beautiful and it has so much to offer, the swimming experience is great, you can go fishing there, there is a playground, trails, picnic tables, and more. It is amazing.

Unexpected Beauty

My friend Patrick took me to this side of Bellevue - Chism Park is unexpectedly beautiful. We had a great time looking at the horizon and the kids playing, the boats, the landscape, WOW! I love it so much that I am definitely coming back.
