Only go if you have a discount
By NicholeR, 1/14/12
It was too expensive for what you get. If not for the seals and otters, the touch pools, and the (crowded) underwater dome I would give it two stars. The seals are the best part, we spent as much time inside as we did watching "Barney." We have been to lots of aquariums, Dallas and Denver, and this really is near the bottom. It's not flashy, seaworld-like the Denver. And not as diverse as the Dallas. The Tulsa, OK aquarium was better, cheaper and way less crowded.

Good for kids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/11
I have lived in the Seattle area about 14 years, and I do like the place. I would definetly suggest going on a week day if you can because of small children. It is more of a little kids attraction, but I would go again. It is not for everyone though. If you hate educational stuff, then go to a bar or something, not this. :)

Needs MAJOR improvement
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/11
No Sharks, Only 1 large Aquarium. The only good thing is the otters. The seals are in a pool behind a chain link fence. Kinda felt sorry for them. The only positive thing about this aquarium is the touch pools

Waste of time and money
By Squeaks, 6/17/11
So this isn't your average aquarium, first of all there isn't much variety in marine life at this aquarium; the one thing they have the most of is varieties of fish. They do have animals like seat otters, seals, octopus's, 1 species of jelly fish, some birds, and seahorses but that's about it. It only takes about 30mins to get through this place assuming you work your way through the crowd, which by the way is like being at a daycare because people just go in there and let their kids run all over the place while they stand socializing with friends and not watching their kids being rude to the other guests. You also have to pay for parking across the street, where local teenagers are walking around staring into different car windows to see whats in them. It's on a dock, and appearance wise you expect it to be a lot bigger and have a lot more on the inside especially considering the price ON TOP of what you pay for parking. This was a great let down, waste of money, and the worst aquarium I've been to on the west coast (california, oregon, washington). Don't go here, the zoo however in seattle is a good one, so instead save your money and go to it, it's only a few miles away.

AVERAGE AQUARIUM
By nols, 2/21/11
This aquarium is nice , its fun to stroll around and see amazing fish that looked happy. there is an area for kids to learn, play in the tidepool, etc which is nice for families. there is a tropical exhibit, and hawaii exhibit too. then in the next buidling there are seals, sea lions, otters, local fish & birds. it was nice, but look for coupons in some of the tour books to save yourself some $$.

Very Enjoyable
By JuJuBees, 4/6/10
I went to Seattle knowing what I wanted to see. The Seattle Aquarium was one of the top things on my list. I went with a friend who was from the area and hadn't been since he was a kid. My hotel had a booklet that had a coupon that got a free ticket with one paid admission so he got in free. There are deals out there, you just have to look for them. It is a very good aquarium, they have tide pools where touching the exhibit is encouraged. Pictures are also encouraged and you can even use flash if needed. They have a dome room where the tank is filled with all kinds of fish. Lots of them are from Puget Sound. I think that feeding time was 1:30 and the divers talk to you from inside. The otter and sea lion exhibits are also must see!

Quite nice
By djackson, 10/29/09
There was an extensive collection of coral reef, otters and sea lions. If we come back to Seattle again, we'll probably visit again.

We enjoyed all the different rooms and displays. Just when I thought it was over, there was another room to come!

First and last trip was last summer
A very expensive version of a tiny zoo. I understand Washington is special with our species of sea life and vegitation, but we are also interested in OTHER sea life as well. It was so expensive for such a small walk around. Thankfully the piers gave us something to do for the rest of the day, because this aquarium didn't put out.

Enjoyable. Just wish it wasn't so crowded.
By John, 6/22/09
As a local, I've visited the Seattle Aquarium about 3 or 4 times. It's not special, and the exhibits are certainly not impressive, but it is nonetheless a good experience if you just wish to see and learn about a few of the inhabitants of Puget Sound. If not for the seals and otters, the touch pools, and the (crowded) underwater dome, a trip to a local marine pet store would provide the same satisfying experience and save you $16.00 per person. You should plan your visit on a weekday, especially if you're a claustrophobic like me. Otherwise you'll find yourself having to squeeze through all the people and their children just to view the fish.
