Fort Worden
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/09
The concrete structures at Fort Worden are not bunkers. They are gun batteries. A bunker is a underground fortification with out windows.

Great place to get away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/08
Fort Worden is a great place to just relax and get away. They have so much activities for both kids and adults. There is Beach access, awesome hiking trails, and best of all the coolest bunkers.

Great Place For Kids
By Jeanie, 07/18/07
We loved exploring the old bunkers, going through the museum, and the buildings. It makes history come alive for the kids and they have room to run, run, run. The town puts on a great fireworks show on the Fourth of July. It can get a little chilly at night.

FORT WARDEN BUNKERS!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/07
This is a really really great place to go! Bring good shoes and a flashlight and even your dog! These bunkers are AMAZING turn of the century military bunkers - tunnels that sometimes run for miles on the upper ones, and the lower ones are fun for the kids, with a VERY SHORT WALK to get there! Great views, sandy beaches (which are rare for the Kitsap Peninsula) and you can camp there too!. GREAT PLACE TO TAKE KIDS & YOUR DOG FOR THE DAY! Spooky place at night. Great little hike to the Upper Bunkers. Just past Port Townsend. Here is a link for a view! ENJOY LIFE!

Love Fort Worden
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/07
I love going to Fort Worden, It is my disney land closer to home. It is sad that I have to pay money now to go into ALL the bunkers. you Have to go on a tour up on the hill, to go in them " All" . It is sad we have lost the freedom there because of security. I'm tired of running from the ranger.

Where I got Sober...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/06
My name is Pat, and I'm an alcoholic. I'm seventeen years old, and I got Sober in Port Townsend, Washington. I love that town so much. Full of nice people, great places to eat, and the most beautiful scenery that I've ever witnessed.

Great Historical Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/06
I spent a week at Fort Warden for business. The grounds are immaculate and the beaches long and great to walk. Did you know that the movie Officer and a Gentleman with Richard Gere was filmed here? You can rent weekly great houses or camp at the beach. A bit of a long way for some to travel, but worth it!

Fort Warden Park
By Gakker, 05/19/06
We recently took our two kids to Fort Warden State Park. We absolutely enjoyed this place for a great day at the beach. We visited the Marine Science Center (ptmsc.org) on the pier which the kids loved the touch tanks. This is also a good value, if you get your hands stamp you get free admission to the whale museum which is across the street. After that we walked the beach to the light house the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and water while exploring all the driftwood in the area. We also took our kayaks for several hours and enjoyed the shoreline views around the pier and marina. This is a must visit for folks visiting Port Townsend.

I love it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/06
I like the nice view of the ocean because it is a great place for my family and friends. A good time to visit is during the summer because the wind flows in your hair. The winter is probably the worst time because it is farely cold.
