Description

This 16-mile trail system rolls next to the Cedar River through two of King County's southern communities. The trail is a scenic journey through the Renton and Maple Valley areas, including a branch that leads to the Lake Wilderness Park . The trail also comes out near the Boeing plant, and cyclists ride past one of the fields where plant workers build the planes and test various sections. Sections of the trail are paved and a map is available on the Web site.

The trail was very easy for the cyclist in training, and was not the most etertaining, as it ran right next to the highway. Also, the terrain wasn't always friendly for high-speed road bikes.

Excellent bike trail

This is a beautiful smooth, long trail. Perfect for long bike rides. Very picturesque along the Cedar river and recently it's a flowing due to all the rain we have. The only problem is all the leaves on the ground hampers braking if they are wet. Otherwise it's a great place to get in 30 miles or so every weekend. Rain or shine.

Strollin By The River

This is a super urban walk. You can park in a couple of good spots for trail access. My friend & I either park at the Renton Library parking lot & walk out towards Lake Washington. Or we park at the Carco Park Community center & walk east towards Maple Valley. Either way is flat & the trail out towards Maple Valley is smooth enough for rollerblading, just be carfeul if it has rained, the trail can be shady & wet. Bathrooms are located both at the library & community center. There are seasonal bathrooms open along the way. Dogs are welcome & there are "doggy bags". Downtown Renton offers many dining options. Some of my favorites: La Hacieda(mexican), Armondos(italian) and of course fast food Taco Time, Wendys & Arbys.
