Ride the Ducks of Seattle

Description

Tour Seattle on a refurbished World War II amphibious landing craft. The 90-minute tour includes such attractions as the Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square . Then this strange vehicle plunges into Lake Union. The tour cruises past many houseboats and other lake sights. Tickets can be purchased between the base of the Space Needle and the Monorail Terminal at Seattle Center . Tours leave every hour during the summer, less frequently in the off season.

Second Only to the Space Needle
By Angela, 6/4/07
I recommend the Duck Tour as the quintessential Seattle experience second only to the Space Needle - if only for the 'cruise' around Lake Union. However the entire 90 minutes is informative as well as goofy. Our driver was Skip Towne and he kept us all entertained and informed with bad jokes and loud music. It's a hoot and everyone goes along with the joke. I consider it a good value for the money and it gave me more of an idea of where the various neighborhoods and areas of Seattle are. I have driven around Seattle sparingly because of the crazy layout of most of the streets and also because I can't trust myself with a standard transmission on those hills downtown; therefore I'll take the Duck to get the lay of the land.

Not for Adults
By Lisa, 8/2/06
The tour itself is OK. However, if you do not enjoy hearing duck noise makers that all parents purchase for their little darlings throughout your wait in line and entire trip, this is not the tour for you. There are constant bad jokes that only someone under the age of 10 can appreciate. Also, be prepared to hear Disco Duck, a relly bad song about a Halibut and Sponge Bob Square Pants. To the last song the children on the ride will scream the words at the top of their lungs. This is definitely a tour geared toward children 12 and under.

Quack..!!
By Virginia_Dave, 6/23/06
I can tell you that the driver makes a big difference as some of our passengers had been with others not as good as the one we were with. A great way to see a lot of Seattle and to get the usual tourist info as well as some fun and silliness. Great for all ages. It is pricey at $25 a ticket but not a bad value compared to other choices. This is a 90 minute ride through all parts of seattle as well as a boat ride. Enjoy

This is a MUST to do!!!!! Great value for the money. We had Capt. "Lee King", he was very informative and funny! There isn't anywhere else you can take a tour on land and water.

Best thing I did in Seattle!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/05
Because I was only spending a few days in Seattle, I wanted to get an idea of what the city had to offer before making my plans, so I decided to Ride the Ducks. I had the BEST time ever! My Captain, "Helen Wheels," showed me the highlights of the city and cracked me up with jokes and music and a rockin' good time. I also learned about the history and the culture around Seattle. I met up with a friend from the area later and she didn't know half of what I had just learned. Ride the Ducks of Seattle is a must-do for tourists and locals alike! Do it!

A great time!
By Christina W, 6/7/05
Ride the ducks was so much fun! Make sure to get there early because the tours can fill up quickly. The tickets were a little costly but the tour was worth it. The drivers are well educated, humorous, and safe. I have recommended it to friends and would gladly go again! Kids will love this!

First stop in Seattle
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/4/05
Relax and enjoy being a tourist. Have a great tour of the city and enjoy the ride. If you have a sense of humor, you'll love the Duck. You can't take it too seriously when they play disco duck on the PA. But well worth the money!
