Comet Tavern, Seattle

The Comet does not have mirco brews, hates tourists and is not into fashion but does have a hankering for some hot dogs once in a while.

Awesome to find a place with $1 Beers. Specially a place like the Comet Tavern where you can go watch a show for $6 or so dollars. Not much to complain about... it is what it is. A dive bar!

In the mid 80's the Bikers and Truckers made this home. We would desend from SU and finish up Engineering Labs in the corner table. Painted the walls, and we got to write all over them, until they painted again. This is a place were these memories are made and can be made. Great people, with a good place to meet and greet. Go Cheiftains!

And fond memories indeed. A long way from home(Penna), the Comet surely was an inspiration during times of despair and destitution. Typically, I would hang out at Pike Place Market, have lunch and then head up to the Comet for libations(Rainier Beer)and gossip with the gang. Would always have a musical request for Ethyl,and a little puff back in the pool room. Visitng Seattle in 1996 I made it a point to take my wife there and show her my favorite haunt. Hats off to a fine tavern, it will always be a part of me.
