You wouldn't know it from the outside, but Roanoke Inn is the oldest business still active on Mercer Island. Inside the 85 year old establishment, the air gets a bit murky as cigarette smoke chokes out the already faint lighting, but this only makes it easier to imagine the days when trappers made this little joint their stomping ground. On warm summer days head out to the front porch and relax in the sun. Comfy and cozy, this place is a good spot to relax with a game of darts and a group of friends. The grub is a little on the greasy side, and the portions are large. The menu is filled with burgers and sandwiches and the selection of brews is broad. Even the wine list has gotten larger to keep pace with the surrounding real estate prices. Breakfast features traditional bacon, egg dishes and pancakes.
