The Best Steak Ever
By ,
I am a steak lover, and when I came to visit Seattle i was told to visit the Metrpolitian Grill. I was told that it was the best steak in the city. It was the most succulent beaf tenderloin I have ever tasted and it was not over spiced. the service is the best I have ever had. ther was so much food that I did not have room for dessert. I liked the resaurant so much I went back the next day and had my dessert. It was an apple pie of sorts with ice cream, that was prepared and flambéed right at the table. The best experience ever. I strongly recommend this steak house to anyone visiting Seattle Wa.

We will always go back when we are in Seattle

Wonderful dinning experience. Loved the service, food and wine. Reservations a must to get in for dinner. Not a problem if you plan ahead. Wine stuard very helpful in choosing just that perfect wine with dinner. If you are looking for a great steak and great experience, well worth the time and expeince.

Overpriced
By ,
My husband and I have been to over 25 of the "Top 10" steakhouses in the country. Since the Met is on that list, we decided to check it out. Out of all the steakhouses we have gone to from Fort Lauderdale to LA, this was BY FAR the most expensive. The food was good, but not for the price tag. I would not come back. No food is worth the amount of money that we left there. Since it was a Monday night, we had good service. So, if you don't mind leaving your car payment for dinner, be my guest!

We Love the Met
By ,
Man, we had the best service when we last went to the Met..celebrated New Year's there. Wonderful food, although I ordered the blue cheese on my steak and it was a bit too much...but, that's because other friend's suggested it. We are going back in a couple weeks. Great place to take out of town guests.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
By ,
Best steak in town, whose town I wonder....this place is a BIG FAT JOKE !!!!! Words cannot begin to describe the overrated aura of this establishment. Reservations at 8:15 on a Thursday, party of 7, we weren't even approached about being seated until 9:45. Finally got menus at 10:15. It was a business dinner, so we couldn't pull a fit and storm out, we had clients to impress. Ordered, the basics, steak/lamb/waitstaff told head of table to avoid seafood in the place as it was a steak house for a reason....thanks after we just took your recommend. on the Fruit de Mer platter. Anyway, wine steward arrived, we ordered a couple of very nice bottles, surprise only one bottle in house....there will be more tomorrow says the steward. He makes another recommendation for the second bottle. Places clean glasses down all around, then proceeds to mix the two wines in several guests' glasses. Again, trying to impress not throwing a fit,, I would have blown the roof off. Tables' entrees arrive, most of the steaks are overcooked (don't forget, their medium rare is everyone elses medium the waitstaff claims). Oh, and they ran out of baked potatoes, all that is left are the brickish "mashed" glop that they try and pass off as edible. A couple of us sent the steaks back.....at 60 bucks a pop it should feel like an orgasm in your mouth. 40 minutes later, the reorders were delivered, the time is now around 11:30. Guests' request for dessert were honored, soupy bananas foster and burnt caramel. Guess what, they are a steak house for a reason, they don't know a thing about desserts. Watier's parting words as he dropped the 1500 dollar check was.....we cut you some slack and comped the bananas. A parting trip to the bathrrom was breathtaking, I've seen cleaner johns on a New York contruction site after Buffalo wing night. Do yourselves a favor.................STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, ITS NAME IS FAR BETTER THAN THE ACTUAL EXPERIENCE. RIP Metropolitan Grille.

Poor poor service.
By ,
First of all the steak was fantastic. That is where the good ends though. We had reservations at 8:30pm, but weren't seated until 9:30. We didn't get our food until 10:10 (we had a babysitter to get back to by 11:00pm so were rushed eating.) No apologies or explanations on the delay of seating and service. No letting us know they appreciated our patience, no acknowledgment of a problem. Hostess was the rudest thing there. I overheard a server say they overbooked. Although steak was great, go to El Goucho instead. Didn't have time for appetizers or dessert. I won't go there again, unless it is a 5:00pm reservation very early.

Don't need to go there again.
By ,
Everything was very overpriced. The steaks ($40-$50) were mediocre at best. This was a huge disappointment since we were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We ordered creamed spinach which came with very little "cream", had cheese on top, was dry and not very tasty. We left most of it. (We cook the Julia Child recipe at home, which is a far superior version.) Also disappointing was the rushed service. As we finished each course, the next one was served immediately. We barely had time to breathe. Our waitress was informative and pleasant. Cocktails, appetizer, salads and dessert were pricey, but good.

Poor Service, but Good Food
By ,
I went to the Met with my fiance for Valentine's Day. The service was unacceptable for a restaurant of that class. We waited about 15 minutes before a waiter came to take our order, and rarely check up on us. I ordered a caesar salad that never came. The waiter was much more interested in the tables that had 3+ people and ordered many drinks. To cap it all off, the bill was handed to my future wife and not myself. I must admit the food was exceptional, but not worth the poor service.

Back to the Met
By ,
Years ago we loved the Met Grill, then had an experience where we saw a server lick his fingers and serve us. We stopped going to the Met. But our son loves the restaurant and we took him there for his birthday in Sept. We loved it. The food, service, and just the excitement of energy in the Met changed our minds, infact we are having dinner there instead of our usual choice, Canlis Nov.12. Looking forward to another great evening. Rosalie "K"

Loved the food, but service was a bit slow and the place was a little noisy due to the volume of people.
