I'm a volunteer at the farm now, but i started off as a guest. It's completely free, and offer tours of the 1860 farm house. Very kid friendly, with horses, pigs, chickens, cows, and a flock of sheep. On special event days, visitors will get a hands-on look at farm like during the civil war. Costumed volunteers give tours, help visitors wash laundry, weave on a loom, spin wool, cook in the kitchen, harvest crops, and work in the garden. There are period games for kids. Visitors can see a blacksmith at work, and how a sheep is sheared. Down the road there is Crump Park, which offer a playground, and picnic shelters. I definitely recommend it to anyone in Richmond.
