Joss Cafe & Sushi Bar, Annapolis

Definitely not the best sushi in Annapolis. Terrible service and the sushi is just mediocre. I would suggest Nano Sushi a few doors down from Joss. Do not eat here unless you want bad sushi!

Along with good sushi, the staff at Joss really made a good impression. They seemed enthusiastic, greeting people and sounding happy to have them there. Many restaurants that have some type of greeting routine end up sounding just that, routine, but the staff at Joss maintained their enthusiasm.

This is the best sushi place in Annapolis. The sushi is consistently good. I have eaten Unagi, tuna sashimi, and a lot of sushi here. It was all good. Good sushi is hard to find in the Annapolis area. You can find better sushi and more authentic food in the city, but this is as good as it gets in Annapolis.

Yes this place is small but the sushi is worth it. They have the best of any place around here. I love the staff here they have always been great and have given us great advice on everything from their sushi to saki (without recommending the most expensive on the menu). I highly recommend this resturaunt to any sushi lover.

Limited menu. Bad location. Overhyped in my opinion.

parking isn't a disaster if you look around and aren't opposed to a short walk. there is meter parking on mainstreet, a parking garage to the left of mainstreet, you can park all night for two bucks. if you don't want to pay, there is a funeral parlor on the street parallel to main. free parking. it just makes the walk slightly more substantial. as for the sushi, if you are the ultimate sushi connoiseur then it may fall below your standards, however, if you are just a normal redblooded american looking for some good sushi then joss is your spot. the crunchy ebi, lobster, lobster tempura, rainbow, joss, and atlantic rolls are among the best. it is my absolute favorite restaurant. if you are looking for a good meal, and cozy atmosphere, and an all around great experience, check out joss. the walk down mainstreet to the water after sushi is great, and a great spot for a post sushi milkshake is either chick n ruths, or the annapolis ice cream shop, depending on what time you go. as far as i'm concerned joss is the only sushi in annapolis. nano, and yin yankee aren't even worth a second look.

Always a cozy place to eat. A local hang out. Very cozy and the food rocks! We have also had take out and it was as good as eating in but or course without the charm. A must go if you love sushi and are from out of town. Right on the main street in Downtown Annapolis, MD.

Parking was a disaster. We spent twenty minuets finding a parking space for lunch which was five blocks away, The seating was to close for comfort, with a very small sushi bar. Everyone was eating rolls, I will give them a chance. The well used menu came with a paper for ala cart orders with no prices! My friend and I decided we would order sashimi and nigiri. No rolls for us because the true quality can be hidden in rolls. The presentation was average. The food quality was only average with the fish on the nigiri a little on the thin side for the rice portion. The sashimi was very small. The service was a little slow. The waitress finally ask “ Would you like another iced tea? I replied “Yes”. I was not told they charge for each glass of tea. The Bill!! OVER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS PLUS TIP!!!! Now I know why everyone including the reviewers was eating rolls, the price!!! I Have had much better!!!

I have been going to Joss for about 10 years now, and every experience has been amazing. Joss truly has the best sushi for a reasonable price than anywhere else i have ever been. My favorite starter is the spring roll and favorite sushi is the rainbow roll!!
