Rocky Mountain Raceway

The large family seating section provides a great place for kids and adults alike. Great family entertainment! Ear protection for the kids during the faster car races is a good idea. Good security all around also helps.

This is a great track. This year it has been even more fan-friendly and I have heard that the racers like it better too. They put on a great Saturday night program most the time. It has plenty of comfortable seating. The announcers are very professional. The program is organized and on time. We enjoyed letting our kids go down on the track for autograph session with the racers. Our kids were given autograph cards for this event and they had their picture taken with their favorite race car/racer. This is the Sprint car division and it has become our favorite race on the program. The train race and figue eights are fun to watch, too. The mascot I think is Rocky the Racoon and he is very entertaining. In between different races he throws prizes into the stands and all the kids try to catch one.

THIS ESTABLISHMENT WHEN OWNED BY TOM CARNS WAS NOT REALLY THE BEST PLACE IN TOWN I ADMIT AND ALOT OF THE LOCALS WERE EXCITED WHEN THE YOUNG BROTHERS BOUGHT THEM OUT. HOWEVER THEY MADE THE APPEARANCE OF THE TRACK MUCH BETTER AND THE RUNNING OF THE TRACK HAS JUST GONE DOWN HILL. FOR INSTANCE, A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO I PARTICIPATED IN WHAT THEY CALL 'THE MIDNIGHT DRAGS" WHICH WAS DESIGNED TO GET PEOPLE OFF THE STREETS AND ON TO THE TRACK WELL I PAID MY ENTRANCE FEES AND WAS WENT THRUOGH TECH INSPECTION AND WAS READY TO LINE UP. WELL THE IDEA HERE IS STREET CAR. I WAS DISAPPOINTED TO SEE JUNIOR DRAGSTERS ON THE TRACK FOR 1 THING AND PRO MODS FOR A NOTHER THEY AUTOMATICALLY GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LANES ABOUT EVERY 45 MIN AND GET TO RUN MEANWHILE WE HAVE TO SIT IN THE LANES AND WAIT FOR OUR TURN WITHOUT THE OPORTUNITY TO RACE . SO THE LINE MOVES A LITTLE BIT MORE AND THEN STOPS AGAIN FOR ABOUT 20 MIN. I THOUGHT SOMEONE MUST HAVE BROKEN SOMETHING I WANDER UP TO SEE THE DAMAGE AND SEE WHO IT WAS AND THEY HAVE 2 CARS DOING CIRCLES ON THE TRACK WITH SOMEKIDS WITH A BANNER PROMOTING A CAR CLUB. NEEDLESS TO SAY ALL NIGHT LONG I WAS ABLE TO GET 3 RUNS IN.THE OTHER TIME I WENT OUT WAS A TEST AND TUNE IN WHICH YOU PAY FEES BUY A NUMBER AND THE SIMILAR DISTRACTIONS I STILL WAS ONLY ABLE TO HAVE THREE RUNS IN AND CHOKED THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE THE TEMP CHANGED SO MUCH BETWEEN RUNS AND THEY REFUSED TO LAY DOWN VHT THAT I COULD NOT DIAL IN MY CAR TO GET APPROPRIATLY. THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND I WENT TO BOISE AND WAS ABLE TO RUN ON A MUCH BETTER RUN TRACK WHERE THEIR NOT JUST IN IT FOR THE MONEY THEY CARE ABOUT REPUTATIONS.
