Great for Exercising!
Liberty Park is one of the best parks in the city. I go there at least three times a week to run around the jogging path, or bike along the bike path. Its huge and great for picnics and bbqs. On Sundays during the summer, they have Drum Circle, where a bunch of awesome hippies and other enthusiasts play their drums and other instruments and everyone just dances and picnics and gathers to talk to a whole different group of people than you're used to. There are a bunch of things for kids to do, including feeding ducks by the huge pond, or playing in the kiddie fountain near the middle of the park. There's the Tracy Aviary, which, while being sorely under-funded, is still pretty cool to roam around and check out the birds. There's tennis and a pool and a playground. Its great that there's so much to do, and so centrally located, too. There's not a lot of homeless people, either, which is nice, compared to some of the other parks in Salt Lake. Overall, it's a great place to exercise, take a date or the family on a picnic, or just go to relax and people watch. Plus! One of the best things about it is that everything you can do there is either free or pretty cheap! I don't have kids, but if I did, I'd definitely take them there to socialize with other kids, and just have a great time in the outdoors without having to go very far or spend a bunch of money. Liberty Park is one of the first parks I visited when I moved here, and will always be one of my faves.
