SeaWorld San Antonio

Description

This wet theme park is a treat for anyone who loves animals, roller coasters and fabulous shows. Not only does SeaWorld San Antonio have Shamu (the performing killer whale), it also has walk-through habitats where you can watch sea lions, sharks, fish, penguins and flamingos do what they would do in the wild. For those who crave being a part of the action, there is an inverted roller coaster (do this on an empty stomach), along with a variety of water rides, where not a hair on your head will be dry after riding. Check out the water-skiing shows and the restaurants and be sure to stick around at night for laser shows and seasonal concerts.

Beware of inflated prices....
By ,
I really liked the new Aquatica waterpark....it was great for the kids. Lot's of kid friendly slides and activities. The Seaworld shows however lacked whale and trainer interaction. It was mostly just trainers diving and waving. The price for ANYTHING in the park has doubled and if you try to bring just a few snacks for the kids think again. They check your bags when entering. Then you are forced to buy food at Shamu's Smokehouse...just some friendly advice...don't be hungry when you go and you will feel better about the trip when you leave. Besides, food is so much better when yopur starving at the end of the day...

Confiscated my baby's sandwich
By ,
Recently visited SeaWorld in San Antonio. The lady at the bag check confiscated my baby's piece of bread with jam on it. Her reply, 'no bread'. That's all the supervisor and large security guard had to say too. No amount of explaining that she only had 2 teeth and couldn't eat a hot dog off the kid's menu would make them give it back. To make it worse, there were no toddler friendly entrees in the restaurant like at Disneyland. I reviewed the online list of things allowed, and baby food/items is on the OK list. So, if you'd like to bring in some food to feed your baby...put it in your pocket and not the diaper bag! p.s. the bathrooms stunk terribly and there were no hands-on exhibits like in San Diego...very disappointing visit overall.

Overpriced, Waste of Time!
By ,
I have been to Sea World 3 times before in the past and the experience was always positive, NOT THIS TIME. First off on top of $47 per person tickets (Internet Special) I have to pay $15-$20 for parking? Then we go to the Shamu show and I think we were all falling asleep, it has really become boring, repetitive and predictable. Nothing was amazing about it at all. Secondly, We had probably the worst food we have ever eaten outside of a convenient store and paid 4-star prices. Then when I wanted to refill my 20 ounce Coke which was still full of ice after I finished it they said they do not refill those. It was $2.85 for a cup of Coke flavored ice! Really Sea World? You cheap a**holes. Fortunately, we snuck enough bottles waters in to keep my family five hydrated without having to buy more. Why anybody would want to buy an all you can eat pass there is beyond me. They should either allow you to bring in your own food, like Schlitterbahn just down the road or allow local outside caterers to bring in good food for those prices. Lastly, The people working their were unfriendly, uncaring, unhelpful, and in some cases lacking hygiene. Bert (from Bert and Ernie) you need to invest in some deodorant man. You about made my 10 year puke after taking a picture. Stop worrying about crumbs in the bed from Ernie and bathe! All in all it would be a minor miracle if we ever made it there again, plenty of other more customer friendly places to spend money on. And yes kids usually love because they are not dealing with money, employee attitudes and jerkoff customers at the park who are never corrected by the staff. One other thing, the speed pass system is a joke (and another ripoff). I saw the same girls (I don't know if they were speed pass or not) ride the Rio Loco 4 times before we rode it just once. They realized that the Exit area was the same as the speed pass area and just kept turning around and riding it again and again! So it took us an hour to ride a stupid raft ride just meant to douse you with water. I could have gone to the Sesame street area and got doused by some little 3 foot tall idiot, immediately, no waiting. Just DON'T GO, spend your money at Schlitterbahn and bring your own food and drinks.

been there ,done that, never again
the aqaurium was very interesting along with the dolphin cove, you did not get to see shamu until 8 pm that was too late for us , you would think that shamu being their trademark that you would be able to see him more often, there was entirlely too MUCH RETAIL , the food was too exspensive , the only thing worth buying at the snack stand was the refillible drink bottle , which you also had to pay for the refill, its very hot , alot of walking, everything worth doing was too far apart , did I metion that it is VERY EXSPENSIVE , not worth spending the money

Will NOT Be BACK
By ,
This was our FIRST time going to Sea World...I did my RESEARCH and OVERLOOKED the BAD because I was REALLY looking forward to the Shamu Show and other Animal shows. They were GOOD but VERY SHORT! Some shows we were unable to see because SEVERE overcrowding and you were ran off if you were seen standing trying to watch it from a distance! I paid $200 to see the shows...If I cant see even from a DISTANCE Im highly pissed! Its HORRIBLE that there are 2 SEPERATE charges for SEA WORLD and the AQUATICS area! Food and Drinks were SO OVERPRICED! $4 for an ice cream sandwich is INSANE! The STAFF was RUDE and HORRIBLE Customer SERVICE! I understand its HOT and CROWDED but thats what they are getting PAID for! If it weren't for US (the CUSTOMERS) they wouldn't be there making MONEY! At one point we waited 2 hours for a ride, the PERSON seating us and I QUOTE said "C'Mon GUYS get it MOVING!!! We dont have ALL DAY HERE!!! Hurry UP!!!!" Practically shoved us each on the RIDE! Ordering food was like pulling teeth! They RAN out of EVERYTHING! Theres NOT ENOUGH Snack STANDS, NOT ENOUGH Seats! You would figure they would PREPARE for SUMMER crowds! Will NEVER BE BACK! Did not feel WELCOMED at all after Spending So much Money on their PARK!

Employees steal!!!!!
By ,
The park stays open till 9 but most of the shows shut down at 6. The prices are way to high, $3 for a drink! They also do not work with little people so LPA community dont go unless you are over 36 inch for the kiddie land b/c my dwarf daughter got turned down by elmo land! My father accidently brought his pocket knife so he checked it into the office as directed. So to end the day he went and pulled his wallet out to get the knife out and left his wallet on counter by mistake, well the office personel were only ones in there and now it is stolen!! It could only have been the guy at the counter as it was closing time and no one else was there. They will rip you off at any expense!! HOLD ON TO YOUR WALLETS!!!!
