Located about 16 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio, this is one of many area churches honoring the patroness of the Americans, the Virgin of Guadalupe. This church reflects the area's Hispanic heritage with its beamed ceiling, its walls of native stone and its Saltillo tile floors. It is charming and peaceful, with windows behind the altar looking out over the wooded banks of the creek bed. The Blessed Sacrament chapel is small and intimate, with native limestone walls and rustic pews that reflect the frontier nature of the town.

peaceful

I loved this church it has a peaceful surrounding and the people are the friendliest. My sister baptized her son there and it was a beautiful ceremony.

vintage 70s Am-Church
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/06
This is a very friendly place full of warm, good people. However... it is VERY 1970s in terms of decoration and liturgy style. Lots of ugly felt banners, enthusiatic singing from Glory & Praise, hand holding, and--on my visit-- squash decorating the altar (which looks like a card table).

Changing
By Katie, 12/18/06
My family and i have been going to this beautiful church for over 10 years. It is a freindly and wonderful church. Although lately it has become very crowded, compared to how it used to be. Now instead of relaxing and goig to mass, it seems like more of a fight to get a seat and hope that no one will make you move because they are late.
