Hill Country Golf Club
Arthur Hills designed this magnificent course, which opened to the public in 1993. It is consistently rated in golfing-resort top tens. Since it is considered part of the Texas Hill Country, there are very few level lies to be found on this course. Trees, hills and dogleg fairways lead up to very fast, undulating greens, which promise to challenge even the most experienced golfer. Each golf cart comes equipped with an ice chest as well as a tip sheet on how to best attack the course. Open daily 7 am onwards.
We played during a Christmas break and the course was running a play for the temperature special. It was cold when we paid (which was good) but then it warmed up while we played (which was even better). Really nice layout and a fair test but nothing too extreme (which was good for my father-in-law who doesnt play very often). The course really fits the rustic area and looks very natural, not too man-made. The resort is a great place to stay and the entire trip was very memorable. Ill get back down there sometime, for sure.
