Calaveras Lake, San Antonio

I went out with TJ tjs guide service and caught my limit in 30 min!! We paid for 4 hours OR until I caught my limit and instead of taking me in after catching my limit we spent the next 3 hours catch and release. he was so laid back and fun, but still worked hard in order to meet my needs I booked another trip with him at the end of August! I have fished this lake since 1992 when I was in the Army in San Antonio. I have since moved back to Houston but commute back to San Antonio every year during my childrens spring break to enjoy the Lake. The kids love the Lake and I feel safe to know they can run around and have fun while they are there. Did I mention the fishing is great? At night we usually catch hords of fish and burn a nice campfire near the waters edge. I have yet to have a negative experience at this lake and I always meet good folks on each trip. Planning our yearly trip this March. If you are out just sk for the big game hunter.

$6000 in fines!!! Thats hilarious. What are you? Stupid? You should always know the size restrictions before fishing any lake. Looks like the familia wont be fishing anytime soon...

Lake calaveras is a wonderful place for boating and fishing bu tnot for camping as the place isnt that clean.Its scenic but please carry your own chairs or spreads sheets.

We caught several bass and they charge us a 250 fine for each one on fines. We did not know of sizes limits and retricions. My familia will never go to this place once more because now we have 6000 of fines for only fish.
