Situated near the Galleria, this city landmark is a cool and refreshing oasis that attracts visitors and locals in droves. Designed by local architects in 1985, the amazing wall of water drops thousands of gallons 64 feet every minute. You can stop and linger and enjoy the moment, or marvel at the stunning creation from afar as you drive through the area. It is a soothing experience for working folk in the area who need a quick break. If you find that you really love the spot, it is also a popular wedding venue.

reason why water's been turned off
By L, 07/06/09
the water has been turned off for awhile because there has been a little drought. the city just wants to save some water in case it doesnt rain for awhile. it really is a beautiful place when the water is on though.

The waterwall is a really pretty place. But its nothing compared to the girl i went there with. The wind was blowing so we got kind of wet and cold and she almost snuggled with me.

Amazing Sight!
By J D, 01/14/09
I visited the Water Wall in November 2008 and the water was running. It was one of the most amazing things that I've ever seen. It was nice to enjoy with my Mom as both of us were in town as tourists. We also enjoyed seeing the children there be fascinated by this engineering marvel. This is a must see in Houston.

Still Love this place........but
By Native Houstonian, 09/02/08
I have always love this place .For years, I use to go there and watch families and kids enjoy the Wall. For many years I took pictures of this wall with many visitors.I watched couples, families and many people just walk of sit there and enjoy the water. I admit that I hadn't visited much in the past few years due to my work schedule. I was really disapointed on Labor Day 2008 I had a date and chose to stop by the falls and the water was off. The place that had given so many people enjoyment was just there as like a building it just wasn't the same. I watch many couples have their wedding pictures taken there and I always hoped mine would be taken there too (someday) I still love the place. I can't wait till the day that the water will pour down again.

Wish The Water Had Been Running!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/08
I was very disappointed to arrive and find that there was no water. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I can't imagine why it would not have been turned on. Not even a sign to explain why the water wall had no water. I'm sure it would be beautiful with the water ... sorry I didn't get to see it.

By ManOnTheMoon, 05/29/08
Not only is this shut off at night, the past week or so it has been shut off during the day. Not very fun at all. There is also no where to park. Had to park at the Galleria and walk over there. It does make for a nice picture :)

no photos allowed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/04/08
We were here last nite to take senior prom photos. We took many before a security officer came over and told us, no photos allowed. There were many other prom and wedding groups there, too. Luck we got our shots in before she arrived.

closed at night!!??!!??
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/07/07
For those who may not be aware - the water wall no longer runs at night. According to the telephone recording, it shuts off at 6 pm everyday! This makes no sense to me, and I am now in panic mode, as this is my second idea for proposing that has now been shutdown (christmas lights at hermann park). Awesome.
