Glenbrook Golf Course, Houston

I was looking around the world of golf course and the little track came to mind, I was a Sr at U of H and saw more money passed around the parking lot of this golf course in 1969 than you would see on the tables of Vegas

I played this course for the first time yesterday. Since I haven't played in a long time so I wanted to practice my shots on the range before playing on the course. Guess what? No driving range! First course that I have ever been to that had no driving range.

If you want to play Glenbrook go for it. it's fun. If you meet up with any of the employees do not play with them. they are cheats, liars and thevies. They don't know the rules and do not play by them so you could lose a lot of money. There are no qualified professionals or greenskeepers on the pay roll and frankley they are only interested in getting your money. It is the worst run golf course in Houston and needs to be shut down. It's a goat ranch, stay away.

Easy pace of play. It was worth the money. all holes are not always in very good shape and crossing the big bayou makes the course very interesting. It's not as stuffy as some of the other city courses. If you are in a hurry you might not want to go there. They will allow more than 4 to play together. I like that personally, but some golfers get upset. A great course if you have a high handicap. I highly recommend this course.

It's challenging and the the bayou makes you think twice about the club your hitting. The fees are cheap and the course is nice. I have paid alot more for alot less in the past.

I HAD A 8:45AM TEE TIME ON A SATURDAY AND THE STARTER TOLD ME THAT I WAS AFTER THE GROUP IN FRONT OF ME, THE TIME WAS 8:55AM. I ASKED THE STARTER WHICH GROUP AND HE STATED THAT SIX SOME THERE! I TOLD THE STARTER YOUR GOING TO LET SIX PEOPLE PLAY ON ONE THROUGH 18 HOLES. HE STATED YES, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT, TALK TO THE PRO, HIS NAME IS ART. WHAT REAL PRO IN HIS RIGHT MIND WOULD DO THIS. AFTER STARTING IN THE BACK NINE, IT'S NO WONDER THE PRO LETS SIX PLAY ON A SAT. MORNING, IT LOOKS LIKE A COW PASTURE. THEY MUST OF SAID LET US PLAY SIX OR WILL GO SOME WHERE ELSE.

Nice place to practice, but Grill prices are to high. The Pro Shop staff is a little weak too; they don't know the rules, understand handicaps,they can't give lessons or repair or fit you to a golf club. They are always under-staffed so you waste a lot of time and the course and carts aren't maintained properly. T times are a joke, on one Saturday I teed off 1 hr. after my T time! This could be a great course if it was taken of properly and the attitudes of the people in the pro shop changes. I ramble. It is a fun course to play and very challenging They are also doing some improvements.

Some holes are quite short but require placement shots. However, number nine at 514 is quite a challenge. If you like water you will love this short but challenging course. Low cost and in pretty good condition.

The holes for the most part a challenging and require exact ball placment for good shots. Your driver isn't the best club to use off the tee on most of the holes due to the precise accuracy needed for a good second shot.

FOR THOSE OF YOU GOLFERS WHO HAVE UNLIMITED SOURCE OF INCOME I WOULD RECOMMEND TO PLAY THIS COURSE ONLY ONCE JUST SAY YOU PLAYED IT. FOR THE PRICE IT TAKES TO PLAY A ROUND AT GLENNBROOK YOU COULD PLAY ANOTHER COURSE THAT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A CONVERTED PASTURE. IF THE PRICE WOULD DROP EVEN A LIITLE IT WOULD BE GOOD COURSE TO PRACTICE YOUR GAME FOR IT DOES HAVE SOME CHALLENGING HOLES. YOU CAN'T CHARGE FILLET PRICES AND GIVE THEM A RUMP ROAST. I LIVE WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE OF THIS COURSE BUT I WOULD RATHER DRIVE 30 MINUTES A PAY A FEW EXTRA BUCKS JUST TO GET MY MONEY'S WORTH. I WORK TO HARD FOR IT.
