Moody Gardens

Description

Drive south on I-45 for about an hour and you will hit the Texas Gulf Coast. That is where you will find this beautiful garden entertainment complex in all its glory. Explore the rainforest pyramid, smell the exotic plants, and soar with the space exhibits. Moody Mansion & Museum will enthrall you with its grandeur. For additional entertainment, there is a large-screen IMAX theater, an ice rink, and a aquarium exhibit showcases animals from around the world. Aquarium admission, however, is separate from the gardens. There are also several restaurants to satisfy different tastes, with one overlooking the Gulf Bay.

Family fun!
By ,
Palm Beach was nice and clean, well staffed. Yes, it is smaller compared to other waterparks, but thats what i like about it. I felt more comfortable letting my kids play without me having to breath down their backs. (like i do at the big waterparks) -- ideal for young families. Nice umbrellas and chairs in the sand at no extra charge. Got the 2 day pass and was able to visit all attractions. All of the staff was courteous, very impressed with the level of customer service we recieved. The grounds are kept up very well, every square inch is beautifully landscaped! Thanks for a great weekend MG! Will def recommend and visit again. ( firm believer in attitude is everything, cant believe some of the negative reviews i read.)

Very Disappointing, totally overpriced.
By ,
The aquarium is a far cry from what is offered in Dallas. I've seen better exhibits at my local pet store. Very few sharks. The butterfly garden is a joke... the rainforest exhibit had maybe 5 interesting critters and the others weren't around.... The ridefilm is clearly 20 years old and we got stuck with the 6 minute penguin ride.... It was so lame that we ended up leaving early and giving up on the 3D movie b/c we've done it before and really were not willing to sit around for 2 hrs to watch the movie b/c there was so little intriguing to occupy our time. They have a small water park that would be nice if you were like sardine crammed in a little pool (yuck). It just was not worth the money. We bought the package deal for 3 adults w/ a coupon so it came to just under $150 for the day... SAVE YOUR MONEY there are much better things to do in TX than waste time and money on this.

Butterfly exhibit - Not worth the money or time
By ,
I went to the butterfly exhibit and was totally disgusted. The main exhibit was an outdoor area with netting, about 500 sq ft in area, had some plants/trees/water feature and some butterflies. The tickets were $6 per person. I had 4 tickets and we saw a total of 4 butterflies flying around. Since it was outdoors, it was quite hot and humid. There was a tent after the butterfly area with a maze made up of cheap looking partitions (for kids to walk through) to try to make up for the sorely lacking exhibit. It was totally unprofessional and definitely not worth the $6. I was tempted to demand my money back. We then went to the concession area and were appalled at their prices. We were glad we only tried one exhibit before deciding on the rest of the exhibits. It was not fun and definitely not worth the time or money.

Dissappointed
By ,
$50 -- really? If you've ever been to seaworld, you're going to be awefully dissappointed here. The Aquarium was very sparse and the rainforest wasn't so much a rainforest - no animal life and just a humid greenhouse. We did the whole park in less than an hour We went to the oil platform museum for $8 bucks and had a much better time

Ok people It may not be the same thing you remember from a few years ago but think....they have had a hurricane recently and it takes a while to recover. GIve them a while before you go bashing at it.

Do Not Waste Your Money
By ,
Years ago my husband and I went to Moody Gardens and loved it. My kids had never been and we had a friend in from California so I thought this would be a fun place to go. The ridefilm was horrible, the aquarium had very little, the "bones" museum wouldn't even keep a 5 year old interested, the dinosaur exhibit was terrible, the rainforest pyramid...what a joke. The 4D was just okay, the 3D was really good and the paddle boat ride was okay. To top it off the personnel were rude, the three different bathrooms we were in smelled like urine, were filthy and were either out of tp, paper towels or soap. The cost for water and food it outrageous. What a disappointment, and once again, do not waste your money.

Save Your Money!
By ,
We (Our 3 kids,my husband and I)went to Moody Gardens on July 5,2009.It was a Complete waste of our time. This place is way over priced for the service and attractions. The dinosaurs a live is for babies. The rainforest had no animals maybe a few birds that’s all. We have gone to other rainforest exhibits before that had many different types of animals. The aquarium was nothing special. We asked the employee questions and got the wrong answer on more than one occasion. They were not friendly. We will never go back to Moody Gardens ever again it was a total waste of our time and money. The kids were very board and didn’t’ want to stay very long. .It didn't take very long for us to see everyhing there was to see.We had to walk from the parking lot to the exhibits which is not close together. They said that they had shuttles but, we never saw one.Believe me by the time we left I knew why they called it Moody Gardens we were all very moody.

Disappointed in Rainforest!
By ,
There were no animals in the Rainforest besides about 5 birds and one anaconda. It didn't take very long to walk through and look at various plants. The little maze for the kids was neat but all in all I wouldn't go back for the price $10/person. A worker in the Rainforest said they were revamping everything but they wouldn't have their animals back until summer of 2010.

way over priced

Aquarium is just like any other. Ride film was a complete joke. The film was very outdated, shown on a noisy projector and anything worth seeing in the rain forset you can see from the outside. Dont waste your money. We spent $158 for a family of 5 and everyone left saying how boring it was. Employess are rude.
