This beautiful museum stands as a monument to Chinese history. Fashioned as a small-scale replica of The Forbidden City and The Tomb of the First Emperor, Emperor Qin, it is certain to enchant anyone who enjoys the history, culture, and landmarks of China. Exhibits trace the history of 24 emperors from the 14th century to the early 20th century. Come and explore the ancient mysteries of the Chinese empire. Parking is plentiful outside the walled city, and both gift stores and eateries are available inside the park. Call for special holiday hours.

4 reviews for Forbidden Gardens
China in Texas
By jennifern, 10/06/08
I just went to Forbidden Gardens last weekend and I can honestly say I dont see what people have been complaining about. I thought the price was very fair considering you get over 2000 years of history in one hour and all of the beauty and ambiance of china without the plane fare. Im sure reading about the terra cotta soliders is fun but when you stand in front of 4000 of them its a bit different! I highly recommend going their.

Forget These Gardens
By Mike, 07/20/08
Read about (the real thing) in the encylcopedia, even if you have to go to the library. Everything (there) and more is shown in their brochure. Save your money! Stop in, look at the turtles, keep your wallet closed, and leave. You can look at them w/o paying. This place needs renovation/repair.

China's Forbidden City in Katy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/06
This is the only replica of the Forbidden City and Terra Cotta soliders outside of China. On the up side, the replicas were pretty cool, I enjoyed the weapons room, and the tour talk had lots of interesting info. On the down side, admission was $10 adults/$5 children & seniors, which seems a little steep for what you get. You can see the city and solider replicas only with a guide, can't walk around the place by yourself. The guide was sloppily dressed and unprofessional in appearance, and we were rushed through because of the possibility of rain. They will close the place if it rains heavy or lightning and thunder, with no refund, no matter how long you've been there. No food facilities or picnic area. Overall it was interesting and I would take visiting family to see it for it's cultural value.
