Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens, Humble

This place is magical. Since my children were small our family has visited at least once a year, usually in the spring. What a great place for family gatherings. Every season has something different to offer. The Azalea Hillside is breathtaking, the Bamboo forest so quiet and serene, children and adults alike take delight in the herb garden, indulging all their senses. The ponds with koi are so relaxing to just sit and watch. There are so many quiet nooks to sit and soak in the landscaping. I have taken many friends there over the years and shared my love of this happy place. Even those people who "just know" they won't like come away with a new perspective. The admission is free for all and makes a great getaway for a family on a budget. The paths are wheelchair friendly also. Definitely a must see!
