Head to Harwin Street and you will experience 'guerrilla shopping' at its finest. Of course, the excursion is not actually hazardous, but you do need to be prepared to fight the crowds and do some hard-nosed haggling to get the best deal. Along the strip more than 300 stores offer enough authentic and knockoff designer merchandise to make your head spin. Featuring purses, perfumes, watches, shoes and more, the area literally sells some of the best and worst goods the world has to offer. The two most noteworthy sections are the 9800 block and the 8000 block. Specific hours and credit card acceptance will vary by store.

the whole 9.11 spiel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/10
in order to understand where they are coming from (im a born and raised american citizen by the way), you have to understand that we have gone over to their land, destroyed buildings, torn families apart, butchered people in the streets.. and all for what? you tell me. doesnt that kind of sound what the nazis did in the 30s and 40s? uhm, kind of. also, one more thing to look at... loose change 2nd edition on youtube. im not sure youll think it was just the muslims that had a hand in the ordeal. it was a very sad day for our country, the day we were betrayed by some of our own.

Thanks for the explanation.....but
By danny, 11/06/09
Thanks, Shining Squirrel, for tracking this down and getting the story right. However, this DOES show....once again....that many ( in my opinion MOST ) muslims have zero feeling for the losses of Americans on 9/11. If they did, then this type of thing COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. Personally, I would not shop there ever again...IF I had shopped there before.

HORRIBLE!! & Anti-American!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/09
There was a sign posted on one of the doors @ the address 9700 Harwin Drive, Houston Texas, @ Harwin Central Mall stating, "We will be closed on 9/11 to commemorate the martyrdom of AMIM ALI" one of the pilots who flew a plane into the Twin Towers on 9/11!!! Can you believe this? BOYCOTT HARWIN!!!!! I appreciate the heads up that these people do not support my country therefore I am advising everyone not to support their business.

Awesome Experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/09
My mother and I had so much fun at Harwin Dr. today. After looking all over the internet for a guide to Harwin without any luck, we finally decided to just go. We had heard about Harwin Central Mart from a friend and went there. They had everything we could have ever wanted! They had plenty of stores to choose from, with handbags, jewelry, perfumes, shoes, and gift items. I bought a Jimmy Choo purse (that actually said Jimmy Choo on it), a "cross body" Coach purse (a knock-off; the C pattern was really just ovals), a fancy pair of earrings and a bracelet for prom, a pair of Chanel earrings, and a Swavorski Crystal earrings/necklace set and purse holder as a gift for a friend...and I spent about $100! My mom was able to find a Brighton knock-off purse and some beautiful turquiose jewelry for herself, and a Marc Jacobs bag and Chanel wallet for my sister. We had a blast and were able to comparison shop quite easily. At first we were hesistant to bargain to get a lower price on the purses, but when we saw another lady do it, we gave it a try and it saved us probably $10. Another great thing about Harwin Central Mart was the amount of security we felt. I saw the security guard often, just walking around and keeping things safe. We also were able to stop for lunch in the same building at Sam's Deli. The man who served us was extremely friendly, and the food was great! They also had bathrooms that weren't spotless, but about as clean as the ones you would find in Target or Walmart. We had a great day and I would recommend Harwin Central Mart to anyone. It's a one stop shop for anyone who is looking to buy discounted accessories. Enjoy!

Harwin is only getting better 12/27/08
By AprilM, 12/28/08
My mom and friends go often but we havent been in about a year everytime i go i always find great designer handbags that look identical to the ones they sell in galeria. Today just my mom and i went and it was more AMAZING that usual. I got a dolce and gabbana purse thats big enough for my 17" laptop the guy was extremly helpful and negotioable i purchased it for 60$. Then my sister wanted a tiffanys necklace like mine so i compared the nock off to my real one and it was identical i had no idea which one was mine and i got that for 20$ then went two stores down and saw the exact one with braclet for 30$ a little sad but i still got a good deal. Then i got a coach charm necklace once again identical to the real one for 10$ i love it cant wait to go back but still dont know if they're open on sunday.

Parking Garages??
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/08
I don't know of any parking garages anywhere in the Harwin Shopping District. I've never had any problems while shopping in the district. LOVE the stores and all the values I have found! Can't wait to go back!

Beware
By Jessica, 11/10/08
While the shopping was great and you can't beat the prices, you have to be careful in this part of town. We parked in one of the parking garages of one of the shopping centers, everything was fine when we went in but when we came out and we were loading the car with the kids and the strollers a guy came from the stairs wearing a black ski mask and shouting for us to give us his purse and he had a gun. We managed to get in the car before he got to us. Thank god we had already put our kids in the car and he was to late to get our purses. It is wonderful shopping but please just be careful and keep a eye on your surrounding.

Well I do not know about the knock off handbags in a back room. But I do know about the ones when you walk in the front door. Her place is very clean ,she treat you like you are one of them Aisan. She is always smiling .Now that is a place you would love to visit &,visit &,visit. I have a friend on Harwin and she is very sweet. One day my back was hurting and I need some water seem like I was going to fall out. Mrs.C. took me in gave me water and let me rest in her back room were she had a pallet. No Designer Hand just a pallet, water and a little kitchen. Now we have lunch every month. Love you Mrs. C. (Vanessa) Some places are so crowed you can’t walk throw it stuff is every, But I still enjoy it.
