With some of the best dinosaur tracks in the world, Dinosaur Valley State Park is a great place for fossil enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The 1,500-acre park along the Paluxy River in Glen Rose is a great place to spend the day hiking among the limestone, sandstone, and mudstone deposited nearly 113 million years ago. You will be amazed at the two fiberglass dinosaur replicas the 70-foot Apatosaurus and the 45-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex. Admission cost is USD5 per person.

Dino tracks!
By joyful, 06/27/09
We went just yesterday to this state park. It was $5 per adult and kids 12 and under are free! We went just for the day. There are a few trails down to the river where you can see the dinosaur tracks. When the river is high (it isn't currently), you can swim several places. The first track was a bit treacherous. Ok, easy for the kids, treacherous for me! We swam at the first tracks site. Bring lots of water, it's hot! Swim shoes would be a good idea too. The rocks are slippery. We could see all the tracks, but if the water was up, you might not be able to see them. It was fun!

Nice Park

Large state park with lots of trails to hike and mountain bike. A little bit of a drive SW of Ft Worth, but, worth the time if you want to get away from the city.
