Sardines Ristorante Italiano
Operated by the Matarese family, this eclectic Italian restaurant is a great attraction for people of all ages. Besides the fine food and casual ambiance, you will be treated to live jazz music almost every night. The dining room of Sardines Ristorante Italiano is an ultra-dark space illuminated by candlelight, reminiscent of a grotto. The house specialties include a multitude of seafood and pasta dishes. Favorite entrees include linguine with white clam sauce, chicken marsala, veal and chicken parmiagiana. Desserts include authentic tiramisu and delicious amaretto cheesecake. A full bar menu is available and offers some excellent wine choices.
the place itself might not look that great or romantic on the outside but once you step inside you get hit with a peaceful, romantic atmosphere. the food is priced perfectly for the portions you get not to mention it's excellent. the service could have been better but if your a wine drinker it doesn't bother you to much, just pour another glass :) the music fits the perfectly candle lit inside and makes this place a great fit for a romantic evening.
My senior prom date surprised me by taking me to this restaurant. I had never heard of it before so when we got there I didn't think too much of it because on the outside the restaurant doesnt appear to be to great. But as soon as I walked in, I was hit with awe. The lighting was amazing. Service was excellent and I never had an empty glass. Be sure to catch the live jazz music though! It's amazing. Really fun and a good setting to talk and laugh. I would love to go back anytime! AMAZING!!
My husband took me there for my birthday July '10. The lighting was dim and there was a live 3 piece jazz band. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and good music. Despite other reviews, we were pleased with our service and food. Looking forward to our next visit.
This restaurant used to be our farvorite Italian place to dine however service continues to go downhill. We arrived at our reservation time of 7:30, ordered a $40.00 bottle of wine, ordered our food (nothing fancy). By 9:00 pm still no food howowever 3 other tables seated after us received their food. We left paying for onlyh the wine - No tip.
Its a shame. This used to be a good place to dine. we will give our business elsewhere.
i had always heard wonderful things about sardines.the food is wonderful, plan on waiting atleast 45 min to an hour for your entree on sat nights.i will return for another meal but i will get a table and not eat at the bar.it was smokey and the conversations i overheard were a bit strange to say the least.but go and try it yourself.p.s.the calamari is to die for!!!!!
Wonderful little Italian Restaurant! Great for dates, romantic piano playing accompanying your meal. The seafood pasta (which is what I order every visit I've made there, although I cannot remember the actual name of the dish) is incredible. A lil bit pricy I suppose but they give you an enormous amount of food, and I swear the pasta almost tastes better the 2nd day when re-heated in the oven at around 150 degrees. If you like Italian, you have to get to Sardine's, you'll love it. The only downside is after eating here you can't really stomach corporate American Italian such as Olive Garden any more...a small price to pay.
Well with the dim lighting it was hard to spot...but they brought my wife RAW chicken. A good 1/2" of the middle of the chicken breast on the chicken marsala was uncooked. Wow..cant believe the chef doesnt know how to poke a finger in the chicken to see if it's done? Sent it back..and no second chances with that level of incompetence. We shared the spicy seafood spaghetti which turned out to be very overcooked. The service was great and the jazz band was cool. But the food was just terrible. The girls were right..just go to Olive Garden and save yourself from food poisoning.
I love this place. the atmosphere is a little homelike yet very romantic.
During the week the music is very relaxing yet on the weekend it is very ubeat with the 3-4 piece jazz band. My favorite is the chataeubriand. this is to die for. The service is great.
We just had a event for 25 people and everything was great, The service was top notch as always, we booked our party through their event planner Lisa and it went great. The food is awesome if you like steak you have to try the Chateaubriand this steak will give the best steak house's a run for the money. The atmosphere is eclitic but elegant great for business or romance.my wife and i dine there almost wekly and will keep doing so.
