Plaza of the Americas, Dallas

Beautiful place but why is photography not allowed? You think if someone wanted a picture for bad intentions they couldn't get it with the fancy cell phones we have these days? From reading the reviews here I think the security just likes to throw their weight around. I wouldn't recommend staying where you could be harassed. There are third world countries for that.

we found a little art gallery there on the main level above the ice rink. it was called tvaa gallery. they represented emerging artists from the north texas area. it is a great place to find original art at very low prices.

The little ice skating rink was lots of fun but all the stores and restaurants were closed on Sunday.

The north entrance from Pearl Street is covered with bird poop. Always starts in the early fall and is not cleaned for several months. The sidewalk all the way down to the entrance doors is totally covered, and it smells and is unsanitary. I do not understand how such a wonderful place would leave such a mess at their entrance.

The Plaza has easy access as it is right on the DART rail line. The parking gargage leads to a beautiful view over the ice rink that is between the office towers. You can spend a lot of money at a nice restaurant or eat at the fast food places by the ice rink. It's active during the week during business hours because of the two office towers and when there is a convension at the hotel or at one of the connecting hotels. Other times is feels dead. The shopping is limited and not upscale.

First of all the security in this place IS TERRIBLE! They treat you like crap. When I and a few of my friends stayed there they treated us like we were common thugs! Every time we walked in the building, that we paid to stay in, they followed us around, and were very rude when we asked them why. I would not recommend staying at this location to anyone! I would rather sleep in my car. At least there I would not get harassed because of the way I looked.

In response to the persons review on 3/8/08. I work in the Plaza of the Americas and their staff is nothing but helpful,nice and courteous. Their security is top notch and escort panhandlers and beggers out of the building so that we who work here can go to lunch and not be bothered by people asking for money. As for taking pictures I 'm sure they have a good reason, have you thought maybe people take pics to place escape routes for when they rob someone or take pics to see where the security cameras are inthe building? I love working in the building and feel very safe here thanks to the great security staff and Dallas Police Officers in the building. Also hundreds of people are in here daily eating lunch, not 30!!

this place is pretty nice. Althoguh their management is really bad. I went there and the first thing i wanted to do is eat...the next thing i have is someone kicking me out after i ordered food...then when i wanted to leave the parking lot, the elevators where OFF LIMITS, how else could i get to the parking lot! walking! Then, to ruin the day, we wanted to take a picture, and the manager comes in saying we cannot take pictures because its a "security issue". Seriously, if this was a security issue, do u think al quaeda would crash a plane to a place where there is less than 30 people in one day, less the reduced amount of people that are going there due to their bad service. In conclusion, this place is nice, but they need to take care of their people more, be friendlier, not like the manager kickign us out...

I loved my stay at the plaza of the americas it was so much fun for me and my kids the especially loved the ice skating and enjoyed the theatre they just loved the plays there I stayed there for a week and now I cant wait to go back!!
