Galleria skating rink used to be a great place to skate. In recent years they significantly cut the size of the rink. It is no longer big enough for any skater with even small skill to enjoy. BIG disappointment!!

great value and easy to do with kids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/09
not crowded, quick to get kids on the ice, and they love it. can sit and watch them without worrying about losing them in a crowd.

All the Reasons
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/08
I work at the Ice rink and yes the skates do get dull but when theres most of the time only one clerk working its a little diffifult to get around to sharpening them...and usually during any kind of holiday we will be busy and for those of you that say go somelse to skate good luck finding a place cause alot of the other rinks are for hockey and you have a time limit of an hour maybe 1 1/2hrs as we dont if you were to come in at 10am then you could skate until 5pm and thats because we close for classes at that time...and Personally i think the price is fine but it did go up about 2 weeks ago to $11 per person but cosidering that there really isnt any time limit its good if you have your own skates you pay only $8 and skate rental $3. if you have any questions either call the Ice rink and ask someone there or I can answer your questions on here.

Small Rink
By Stevie Cee, 07/09/08
The rink is very small, perhaps half the size of a typical ice-hockey rink and I would not recommend adults skate here. There are a lot of children skating and lessons going on.

FUN!!!
By Amanda L, 03/18/08
I took my 6yr old ice skating for the first time, and we LOVED It, however it was really crowded, hard to get a spot on the wall so she wouldnt fall, and the people who know how to skate go flying by you...and it was a bit expensive, 20 per person, considering we were only there for about an hour, it was a bit steep for my taste, but all in all it was an awsome experience for my daughter.

Great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/14/08
Super friendly staff, and contrary to other reviewers, the ice is great. Sure it gets crowded and choppy at Christmas time, but that's just because it's such a festive place to skate. We love skating there because unlike the big dark & frigid arena rinks, it's sunny and open!

Crowded and choppy ice
By A Yahoo! User, 11/29/07
We went on a Saturday, I knew better than to do that, but we went anyway since we were only in town for a couple of days and my boyfriend had never been ice skating before. The rink was WAY too crowded. The blades on the skates were dull and the ice got very choppy after no time at all. It would probably be better if we could have gone during school hours or when that huge (but very neat and lovely) Christmas tree isn't taking up so much room. I was really looking forward to skating so I wish we would have gone elsewhere. We got off the ice after about 10 or 15 minutes.

Crowded and dull blades...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/07
If you have your own ice skates and can go during 'off' hours I'd recommend it but on a Sunday afternoon and with rented skates it wasn't a great experience.... The skate blades were so dull it made skating far more difficult than need be and most of the skates seemed like they were ready for retirement- they were pretty old and beat down. The rink was very crowded and the locker/skate rental area had a 'locker room funk' that was pretty strong. It's a nice novelty to have a rink in a mall but I wouldn't go there regularly. On the upside, the staff was excellent and very helpful.

Let's go for Christmas!
By Abigail, 05/19/07
We have been celebrating Christmas for the past 3 years by staying at the Westin and shopping for our presents. It's so magical watching my children ice skate around that fabulous tree. We live in Louisiana and this is about as close to snow as we can imagine. I love the fact that I can wake up and walk out into the mall. (And, eat Godiva Chocolates for breakfast!)

Not the best place to ice skate
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/07
It's often overcrowded. The ice is usually really choppy and the skates dull and even worse, I've received some icky sweaty skates on more than one occasion. If you want to show off, go to the Galleria, but if you want a good place to skate, go elsewhere.
