Highland Park Pharmacy Fountain, Dallas

We visited Highland Park Fountain over Spring Break for a short getaway from San Antonio. When I found the place on Yahoo Travel, my family was really excited to visit since we love to check out ice cream shops and old soda fountains, it's just our thing! I have to say, their pimento cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup was absolutely delicious but that was about the only positive thing about our visit. The shakes and brownie sundae were mediocre (at best) and the hot dogs were a disappointment. We loved the old soda fountain set-up but disliked that when sitting at the bar, the dish washing sink is directly in front of you, yuke! Our waitress was just OK and $40 dollars later, that was our disappointing experience. This place needs to step up the quality of food and hire some people who enjoy working there. Everyone looked like they were totally depressed to be at work.

This place has THE best chocolate malts I have ever had in my life. I have traveled the globe in search of the best malts and found it here...bottom line.

Everything was great. The customer service and food was excellent. No one can beat the grilled cheese sandwhiches and chocolate shakes. There is usually a line out the door on Saturdays, but the wait is WELL worth it. Can't wait to go back.
