Inner Space Cavern

Description

After being sealed for over 10,000 years, this cave was discovered in 1963 when a group of workers were digging to build a highway overpass. Daily tours are available and last just over an hour. The cave stays a comfortable 72 degrees Farenheit year-round, and features not only beautiful rock formations but also the remains of prehistoric mastodons, saber-tooth cats and other ice age animals. After your tour, enjoy the shaded picnic area with a playscape for children.

We take our visitors to Inner Space Cavern.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/30/09
Our last visit left lasting impressions because there were no in door bathrooms, just porta pots outdoors which were so dirty. Our guest came home with feces on the back of his shirt. We won't be back until their plumbing is rectified.

Would not do it again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/09
Well, the cave is beautiful but u cant touch anything and the hour tour is rushed. It is NOT worth the price... we paid $58.18 for 2 adults and 3 children and its only an hour long. There isnt much lighting so u cant get very good pictures either. I would not recommend this one... at all. Our tour guide was a little rude when the couple behind us was taking a bit longer than the rest of us because they wanted to take pictures and the tour guide said "They're picture people" and asked them to please hurry up that she was on a strict schedule. For what is costs we should be aloud to take as many pics as we want and take our time, not be rushed.

I really liked it!
By heather, 9/11/08
I went with my dad when i was 13 and I loved it! The tour was about an hour. They had sabar tooth tiger and preistoric horse bones in it. There was some amazing scenery too. It was a little chilly so if u get cold easy wear a jacket. I really enjoyed it and now that I have a family of my own I plan on taking them.

Nice hour but a little pricey
By r_c_koontz, 6/25/07
Went here with my girlfriend and 2 children 10 & 13. I guess I will start with the costs, 14.95 for adults and 8.95 for children plus tax. The staff are very nice, the shop is full of items not from the site, however you can get a coffee mug or T Shirt. The actual tour lasts about 1 hour, and is very interesting, but not worth the price tag I would say. It is a walking tour so not recommended for the very young, old, or those with walking disabilities.

Used to work there
By LaTasha, 10/14/05
I liked that the tour has stayed basically the same since I left my postion as a tour guide four years ago. I really didn't like that they have opened the cave to "wild tours". This is a privatly owned cave so the family that owns it can do what they wish with it.
